Bromo ijen Sukamade tour from Surabaya / Malang is the best choice if you are coming from the western part of Java Island. This tour is starting in midnight for the program 3D2N of bromo ijen sukamade tour package. This program is suitable for those who don’t have any longer day in Java. Mostly tourist who do this tour is dropping off at Ketapang Ferry port in Banyuwangi. Then they direct to Bali for their next journey. But it is possible if they want back to the first meeting point.

- Day 1 | Malang/Surabaya - Bromo - Bondowoso
- Departure time : 12.00 am (Midnight)

The driver will pick you up at your accommodation in Malang or Surabaya in midnight 01.00 am. Furthermore, direct driving to Cemara Lawang as the village in Bromo area for about 3 hour. Arrive at Cemara lawang and switching your car into 4WD jeep to reach the Bromo sunrise spot. You will be standing on the sunrise spot named the Kingkong Hill which is 2600m above sea level. Arrive at sunrise view point about 04.00am.
Before bromo sunrise, you may have a cup of coffee or tea in the small stall on this area as morning break and its included. The sun rises at 5.30 am, and when it comes, its time for you to fill your memory card with the awesome scenery of Bromo mountain range.
Mount Bromo is the lowest 2.329m above sea level. It can be marked that Mount Bromo is the smoky one. The next is Mount Batok and its not an active volcano. Other mountain is the highest named Semeru. It is the holy and the highest mountain in East Java which is the altitude is 3.676m above sea level.
After enjoy the Bromo sunrise, the jeep will bring you down to the Bromo Caldera (sea of sand). A long the way down you can ask the jeep driver to stop anywhere if you see a good spot to make a picture.
Your jeep will stop nearby Poten Temple and you start doing a smooth trekking to Bromo Crater. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the top and enjoy the view from the rim of mount Bromo. After trekking to Mount Bromo and then heading back to the car and have breakfast at the nearest restaurant at Bromo area.
The tour continue driving to Bondowoso for Ijen. You will be staying at hotel in Bondosowo which is the closest regency from Ijen area. The tour for the second day is done from here and free program. Preparing for Ijen Crater tour

Preparing tour for Ijen Crater. Leaving from hotel at 03.00 am and direct driving to Paltuding (ijen’s parking lot) about 1,5 hours. Prepare your stuff which are necessary to bring to hike mount Ijen such as shoes, long sleeves, long pants, widproof jacket and headlamp. You can leave some of your stuff in the car.
You will get through the smooth track within 3km length to reach Ijen summit. The track is divided into; first 200m semi-flat, second 150m steep and the rest is more flat. Along the way you will find and walk with sulfur miner and local service for “ijen-taxi”. Sulfur miner starts working early morning from 03.00am and finish at 09.00am.
You will reach the summit about 05.00am and its time to enjoy one of the greatest of acidic lake on earth with its beauty color. Around 08.00am leaving Paltuding then further driving to Sukamade. You will stop at Siliagung village to meet your jeep driver and change the car. Then the trip is continued to pesanggaran village as the short break point for lunch.
You will arrive at Sukamade accommodation at about 04.00 pm. Take your time and relax. You can also take a walk through the village and meet the locals. Dinner is served at 06.00 pm before joining the National Park Ranger to see the turtle laying eggs on the beach.
*Disclaimer : The Tultle is might 100% cannot be founded . But its 85% can be founded laying eggs. This situation is affected by the weather, environment climate and some predators existance and also need a little luck 🙂

Early morning all travelers are may joining the program releasing turtle babies on the beach. This excursion will be leaded by the National Park Ranger. After joining this program, all travelers returns to the homestay for having breakfast. Meanwhile, leaving Sukamade at 07.00 am and continue driving to your accommodation in Bali. Tour is finished and see you on the next journey.

Before you book you should know
- This tour will coverage destinations volcanoes and wildlife encounter in East Java which will lead you into adventurous activity. The tours is possible starting early morning or even midnight from accommodation.
- This trip includes travelling with your group in a private vehicle combining into MPV or Minibus and four Wheel Drive either at Bromo and Sukamade. There will be a few long travel days because you’ll be visiting some places with adventurous landscape and challenging. The driving duration from one to another places will take about 4 to 5 hours or more to arrive, but there will also be stops along the way to rest and explore interesting locations. Please check the itinerary for estimated travel times.
- Summer temperatures can reach 10°to 12°C at the volcano morning activity and 30°C or higher in some low land areas such as at Sukamade Beach, so it’s important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and stay hydrated. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
- We have chosen our accommodation very carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the location of the destinations, but please note that service and accommodation in East Java may be different from standards you are used to at home.
- Room configuration we provide is a private room with capacity for 2 people in a room (odd number of traveler we use an extra bed). If you want a private room for single traveler you may add by request to our reservation staff.
- Accommodation might be fully booked during peak season (July to August), as the alternative we will find similar hotel as we provide. Book earlier before peak season is highly recommended.
- Accommodation at Sukamade is very basic as it is staying in the middle of Meru Betiri National Park and may be different from basic standard at your home.
- East Java cuisine is known for its bold, rich, and savory flavors. Compared to other Indonesian regional foods, it often tastes stronger and more spicy, with a balance of sweet, salty, and savory elements. Many dishes use shrimp paste, chili, garlic, shallots, and petis (a thick fermented shrimp or fish paste), which gives the food a deep umami taste. Overall, East Java food is comforting, flavorful, and full of character, with a strong local identity shaped by coastal trade, farming traditions, and diverse cultural influences.
