This tour takes 3D2N with 1 night at Bromo and 1 night at Kalibaru area before end up in accommodation in Bali.
What makes this tour interesting?
This tour has been designed slowand realx while travelling. Starting in the morning from Malang after breakfast is the best time. You will have more time to enjoy the nature, villages, small town view along the way to reach Cemara Lawang (Bromo accommodation). The best part on this trip is stop by at Madakaripura Waterfall (Optional). This waterfall is fully stunning with the height of 656ft and the cliff view surrounding.
Explore the waterfall will finish around 3pm and then continued driving to your accommodation at Bromo area – arrive at the accommodation at 4pm free time and relax. Following the tour itinerary from early morning to enjoy the Bromo view and the volcano, you still have time to have a breakfast at your hotel before continue the tripto Kalibaru area.
Taking about 6-7 hours seems like boring and exhausted but you can take a short break anywhere to find out a refreshment – ask the driver. Once you arrive in the accommodation at Kalibaru area, time is yours, enjoy and relax. On the next morning after breakfast, collecting a new experience begins. You will go to the plantation centre which is about 20 minutes from your accommodation to reach it out with the car.
Once arrive at the plantation, a humble and full of hospitality staff will greet you to have some traditional drinks and short briefing before exploring the plantation. Find out more information about coffee, rubber, hazelnut, rice and any herbs in that place. The trip finishes in the accommodation in Bali around 5pm (Bali zone)
Tour Itinerary
- Day 1 | Malang - Madakaripura - Bromo
- Departure time : 09.00 am
- Pick up from accommodation in Malang
- Explore Madakaripura Waterfall
- Temperature : Dry season will be at 25 - 28 degree Celcius (July - August)
Bromo Ijen tour will start at 09.00 am (after breakfast) from Malang, our staff will pick you up at the meeting point such as hotel, train station or places in Malang area. Then direct drive to Cemara Lawang for about 2.5 hours to reach your Bromo hotel. Arrive at your Bromo hotel about 4 pm if take an optional tour to visit Madakaripura waterfall before your hotel.

Optional Tour: If you start in the morning, you have a chance to visit Madakaripura Waterfall during the trip from your accommodation in Surabaya or Malang to your hotel at Bromo area. If you prefer to do this optional tour, your driver/guide will help you to arrange it with USD $13 per person.

- Pick up from accommodation at Bromo with Jeep Bromo
- Explore Bromo Volcano
- Temperature : Dry season will be at 4 - 9 degree Celcius (July - August)
Morning call at 03.00 am and your Jeep driver is ready to wait for you for Bromo Sunrise tour. You will be standing on the sunrise spot named the Kingkong Hill which is 2600m above sea level and you will be there about 04.00am.
Before bromo sunrise, you may have a cup of coffee or tea in the small stall on this area as morning break and its included. The sun rises at 5.30 am, and when it comes, its time for you to fill your memory card with the awesome scenery of Bromo mountain range.
Mount Bromo is the lowest 2.329m above sea level. It can be marked that Mount Bromo is the smoky one. The next is Mount Batok and its not an active volcano. Other mountain is the highest named Semeru. It is the holy and the highest mountain in East Java which is the altitude is 3.676m above sea level.
After enjoy the Bromo sunrise, the jeep will bring you down to the Bromo Caldera (sea of sand). A long the way down you can ask the jeep driver to stop anywhere if you see a good spot to make a picture.
Your jeep will stop nearby Poten Temple and you start doing a smooth trekking to Bromo Crater. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the top and enjoy the view from the rim of mount Bromo. After trekking to Mount Bromo and then heading back to the car and have breakfast at the nearest restaurant at Bromo area.
The tour continue driving to Kalibaru accommodation for about 5-6 hours. Free time and relax.

The tour begins at 09.00 a.m after breakfast, then driving to agriculture tourism spot. Joining kalibaru tour makes you able to explore typical plantation in Java i.e Cocoa, Coffee, Dragon Fruit, Rubber and many more. Explore some plantation and see the perform of traditional dance of Java. Moreover you can see the process of how to make palm sugar and coffee roasting in traditional way.
Talk to the driver to visit “The Dusun Kakao”. It is the central of cacao plantation within an old factory operates in it. They produce original chocolate made by old machine. In addition, they will show its way to tourist about how to make chocolate and let you tasting it directly.
