Take by train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya train station. The driver will pick you up at the train station and then direct to Bromo area for overnight. By following the program to visit Bromo sunrise and the Ijen Volcano with an optional the Blue fire Ijen.

Borobudur Sunrise & Prambanan Sunset
Borobudur Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. This temple is located approximately 100 km southwest of Semarang, 86 km west of Surakarta, and 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta. This temple with many stupas was founded by followers of Mahayana Buddhism around 800 AD during the reign of the Syailendra dynasty. Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple or shrine in the world, as well as one of the largest Buddhist monuments in the world.
Meanwhile Prambanan Temple is the largest Hindu temple building in Indonesia which was built in the 9th century AD. This temple, which is also known as Rara Jonggrang, is dedicated to Trimurti, the three main Hindu gods, namely Brahma as the creator god, Vishnu as the preserver god, and Shiva as the destroyer god. Based on the Siwagrha inscription, the original name of this temple complex is Siwagrha (Sanskrit which means ‘House of Shiva’), and indeed in the garbagriha (main room) of this temple there is a three meter high statue of Shiva Mahadewa, because the Syaiwa sect prioritizes the worship of the god Shiva in this temple.
Bromo Sunrise and Ijen Blue fire
Enjoy the most famous volcanoes in East Java; Mt. Bromo and Mt. Ijen. Bromo sunrise tour is one of the most frequently booked by tourist who are visiting East Java. This trip becomes perfect if it is combined to visit Mount Ijen Volcano before finish and chillout at Bali.
Bromo sunrise is regularly depart early at about 3 am from the accommodation at the Bromo area. Meanwhile if you stay at Surabaya or Malang, you must start at about 12.00 am. Jeep Bromo with 4WD is another adventure while visiting Bromo. This vehicle will take you to the sunrise view point and going through the Bromo Caldera (the sea of sand). Enjoy the landscape of Bromo , the locals and the majestic volcano will gain an awesome experience.
In addition, visiting Mount Ijen or Ijen Volcano is also stunning and would be an adventure night trip. Starting in midnight (12 am) from accommodation at Bondowoso to reach the Ijen trekking basement (by car). Once arrive at the trekking basement, you may have a cup of coffee or tea before hiking to warm your body. The trek length is about 3km within 200m flat, 100m semi flat, 150m steep and the rest are flat until the top. The other attraction is the Ijen Blue Fire. Traveler must go down to the crater to reach the blue fire site and they can see it closer (noted: Blue fire require a good weather).

The driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel in Yogyakarta and then direct driving to Setumbhu Hill or Barede Hill to watch the sunrise. The sun is rising at 05.30am. After enjoying the Borobudur sunrise, then walk to the Borobudur park and visit the temple. You can walk around to the temple but if you wish to climb the temple, an extra charge ticket are involved.
Once you get through the entrance ticket, the guide will meet you and walk around the temple. This excursion will be finish at about 10am. After finishing in exploring the Borobudur temple, then the trip in continuing to Merapi Lava Jeep Tour. It is located in the south of Yogyakarta which is in the area of Merapi mountain. The 4WD jeep will take you to cross the lava flow river and seeing around. You will have lunch at the nearest restaurant at Merapi lava tour basement.
The trip is continuing to Prambanan Temple for the sunset program. It takes about one and half hour to arrive. You will be leaded by the local guide to explore the temple while enjoying the sunset. The sunset program is finish at 5.30pm and then return to your hotel. Free program and preparing to tomorrow train to Surabaya.

Your driver will pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off at the Yogyakarta train station. Take the train to Surabaya about 5 hour and your East java driver will meet you at the exit gate. Arrive at Surabaya train station about 11.00 am, you still have time to take a short visit to Madakaripura Waterfall before reaching your accommodation at Bromo.

Depart early morning at 03.00 am from your accommodation to the Bromo sunrise view point with the 4WD Jeep Bromo. The trip is about 30 minutes to reach the view point. Once you arrive there you still have time for morning coffee or tea at the nearest shop. Bromo sunrise is at 05.30 am. you need to walk for about 150 meters from the coffee shop to reach the sunrise spot.
From the view point, you will see the Bromo mountain range such as Mt. Bromo (2,392 asl), Mt. Batok (2,440 asl), and Mount Semeru (3,676 asl). Mount Bromo can be identified as the smooky one in between the mountain range and its the lowest. On the next of mount Bromo there is a mount Batok. On the background with the highest is Mount Semeru. This volcano is still active and if you are lucky you can see it (Mt. Semeru) blowing the smoke from the crater chamber.
Leaving Bromo view point at 06.00 am is the best timing. Return to the jeep parking area and then the Jeep will take you down to the Bromo Caldera (Sea of Sand). This is one of the favorite stopover to capture some pictures before continuing hiking at Bromo Volcano. The Jeep will wait for you at the parking area and you can prepare for hiking Bromo.
Once you get off from the jeep, there will be a horseman come to you to offer their service with the horse, but of you love adventure, you can take by walk until the top of Mount Bromo. To reach the top of Mount Bromo is taking about 20 minutes walk which are combined the sandy walk path and the 251 upstairs. 251 is the number of our version in counting the stairs, but you can prove it from yours. 🙂
Return to the jeep parking and back to the hotel for having a breakfast before continue to Bondowoso regency (Ijen’s accommodation). Generally leaving Bromo area at about 9.00 am and then direct drive to Bondowoso regency. It is located in the eastern part from Probolinggo city and it takes about 4 hours drive to reach that. Along the way to Bondowoso you may stop at the restaurant at Paiton Village befoer continue to your accommodation. Arrive at your accommodation about 3.30 pm and free program.

Depart in midnight from Bondowoso to reach the ijen’s trekking basement (named – Paltuding). It takes about two and a half hours to arrive. Once you arrive at Paltuding, you can prepare your stuff which is necessary to bring such as; camera, any important documents, mineral water and the rest of your luggage can leave in the car and the driver will keep it as well.
Ijen trekking length is about 3 km which is divided into several parts; 300meters semi flat, 150 meter steep and bending, and the rest are flat until the top of Ijen. The soil trek layers tends to be sandy with small stone which is possible lil bit slippery and having a pair of shoes with a good grip would be perfect.
Hiking at Ijen is technically no need a professional outdoor equipment and or specific skill but good physical health and fit is enough. If you willing to see the attraction of the blue fire, we strongly recommend you to use a local guide service. They will lead you from the starting until you go down to the crater and standing on the Blue fire site closer, and of course they know the route, trek and timing.
After blue fire and then return to the top of mount Ijen and reaching the sunrise view point. The sunrise view point is the best place to have a perfect look the Ijen Crater lake and the sunrise (required a good weather). After adventure at Ijen, and then leaving this area about 08.00 am and then continue to Ketapang Ferry Port. You will arrive at the Fery port at about 9.30 am and then cross to Bali by Ferry about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Bali, your private driver will wait for you at the exit gate of the port and be ready to take you to your hotel in all Bali areas.
